Preliminary hearing in Sharper case scheduled for next week in L.A.

Lawyers announce that they are ready for a preliminary hearing next week for former NFL player Darren Sharper on charges of drugging and raping two women in Los Angeles County back in 2013. Judge Michael Pastor scheduled the hearing for next Tuesday to see if prosecutors have enough hard evidence to try Sharper. Frequent setbacks in Los Angeles Superior Court have led federal prosecutors in New Orleans to delay transferring Sharper to face similar accusations there. Sharper pleaded not guilty to drugging the two women he met at a West Hollywood nightclub and raping them while they were unconscious. He faces similar charges in Arizona and Louisiana. Federal authorities have ordered the Los Angeles sheriff to turn Sharper over to U.S. marshals in New Orleans on April 6.
