Questions remain regarding Indiana State Fair stage collapse

Following the collapse of the Indiana State Fair stage collapse on Saturday, major questions remain regarding the structures’ safety and the handling of the disaster. Questions as to why people were not evacuated as a storm moved in as well as why officials didn’t doing anything to potentially prevent the tragedy are currently being asked.

Indiana State Fair officials have not confirmed whether or not the stage and riggings were inspected the night of the incident. The stage collapsed when a wind gust approximately 60 to 70 mph brought down the roof and the metal scaffolding holding lights and other equipment.
