One day after a New York district attorney said charges should be dropped against the former International Monetary Fund chief, a status hearing was scheduled Tuesday in the sexual assault case involving Dominique Strauss-Kahn. Lawyers for Strauss-Kahn were ecstatic while those against Strauss-Kahn, including the accuser’s attorney, are furious.
“Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance has denied the right of a woman to get justice in a rape case,” said Kenneth Thompson, the attorney for Nafissatou Diallo, the housekeeper who accused Strauss-Kahn of sexual assault. According to court files, numerous falsehoods regarding Diallo led to the dropped charges.
