The East Coast is bracing for a hurricane that many weather experts are considering potentially historic. On Thursday, the Bahamas were experiencing the wrath of Hurricane Irene; 100 mph-plus winds and damaging rain and flooding Irene, the first hurricane of the season, is a storm that could eventually make it’s way up the East Coast and into the Mid-Atlantic.

Experts expect that Irene could hit the Carolinas on Saturday and manual evacuations are now in effect for people living on the coast. It is expected to drop large amounts of rain as it moves up the coast before finally weakening around Connecticut.
