Laurel man charged in couple’s murder

First- and second-degree murder charges have been brought forth in the killings of James Vell Ferguson and Tina Towler who were killed in Laurel, Md. this past May.

47-year-old Thurston Lamont Yerby, who was reportedly involved in a romantic relationship with Towler, is charged with the murders.  Police are unaware as the whether or not the relationship was Yerby’s motive.

DNA samples found in the couple’s residence linked Yerby to the crimes.
