A Maryland woman received a five year prison sentence after being caught on tape stealing hair extensions from a store in Montgomery County.

Nineteen-year-old Yvonne Williams was attempting to steal $850 in hair weave from Gaithersburg’s Town Beauty Supply when her baby fell from a stroller to the floor during the commotion.

According to Ramon Korionoff of the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, she was trying to use the baby “as a cover to steal things from that store and try to make her escape.”

Video footage shows Williams trying to snatch the store owner’s phone and hit her with a shoe.

She pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and one of her accomplices pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

A third accomplice has not yet been identified.
