Prince George’s County police will be handing out gift cards in exchange for unwanted firearms this Saturday.
The guns can be functional or non-functional and can be traded for up to $150 in gift cards.
Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks says, “It is important we continue to be proactive in getting guns off our streets…Programs like Gift Cards for Guns will help the county continue its downward crime trend.”
The police department will also be accepting unwanted ammunition.
The exchange will be held at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Landover, Maryland on December 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
