This week is National Child Passenger Safety Week, and Maryland is offering free inspections all week for safety seats. The inspections are being offered by Maryland Kids in Safely Seats, and will be available at hospitals, police and fire departments, and even some car dealerships.
Having the right car seat can cut the risk of fatal injury in infants by 71 percent, and by 54 percent for children between one and four. A full list of participating locations is available at the Kids in Safety Seats website.
