The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honors Chuck Berry

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is honoring singer Chuck Berry as part of its America Music Masters series. In October, the 82-year-old rock icon will be the subject of a week-long celebration by the hall and Case Western Reserve University. The celebration starts Oct. 22 and ends with an all-star tribute concert on Oct. 27. Berry, famous for numerous hits including “Johnny B. Goode,” “Maybellene” and “Roll Over Beethoven,” will be performing in the event, but the list of other performers has not been released. Berry, who was incducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986, said he is “looking forward to reelin’ and rockin’ in Cleveland.”

Past honorees include Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and Woody Guthrie.
