Jermaine Jackson seeks to change his last name

Pop singer Jermaine Jackson, the older brother of King of Pop Michael Jackson, is asking the courts to allow him to alter the spelling of his last name to “Jacksun.” He filed a name change petition on Tuesday in Los Angeles citing “artistic reasons” as his incentive. Jackson did not offer any further details, but his friend Steve Dennis said it’s not unheard of for artists to change their names. “Phonetically,” said Dennis, “it changes nothing.” Jackson has recently been touring with his brothers in and promoting his book about his megastar brother Michael titled “You Are Not Alone.”
