Actress Ann Rutherford died Monday evening at her home in Beverly Hills. Rutherford, star of the long-running Andy Hardy series and Scarlett O’Hara’s youngest sister in  “Gone With the Wind,” died at 94. According to her close friend and fellow actress Anne Jeffreys, Rutherford died after suffering from heart problems. Rutherford launched her movie career in Westerns while still in her teens. She often appeared with singing cowboy hero Gene Autry and sometimes with American icon John Wayne. Jeffreys, who was at Rutherford’s side when she died, said Rutherford was a frequent guest at “Gone With the Wind” celebrations in Georgia and, as one of the few remaining actors from the movie, she continued to attract fans from around the world.
