‘Dumb and Dumber’ sequel gets dropped

The sequal to the 1994 original hit “Dumb and Dumber” has hit a roadblock. The follow up movie, “Dumb and Dumber To” [sic] was in the works with New Line Cinema, but its parent company, Warner Bros., decided to drop the project.

Bobby and Peter Farrelly, the writer-director brothers who created the original movie, are now in search of a new financer and distributor for the sequel.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will return as Lloyd and Harry, the less than intelligent duo. The storyline of the film involves the pair going on a road trip to find Harry’s illegitimate daughter for a kidney transplant.

New Line Cinema also produced the prequel “Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd” without Carrey, Daniels, or the Farrelly brothers. The movie portrayed Harry and Lloyd during their high school days in the 1980s.
