Country musician Jay DeMarcus welcomed his second child with wife Allison Alderson on Friday. DeMarcus, one-third of the country trio Rascal Flatts, almost missed the birth of his son, Dylan Jay DeMarcus. The 41-year-old bassist was with his band in Detroit when he received the call that his wife was in labor. DeMarcus flew to Nashville to witness the birth of his son, but he quickly got back on a returning plane to perform in Detroit. The band is famous for hits “What Hurts the Most” and “Bless The Broken Road.”
Dylan Jay was born at 4 p.m., weighing 7 lbs., 11 oz. at birth. The pair, who have been married for eight years, are already parents to daughter Madeline Leigh, 19 months.
