Hostess Brands, the manufacturer of Twinkies and Ho Hos, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday. The company currently staffs about 19,000 employees, 10,413 of which are hourly workers, and 8,436 of which are salaried. A spokesperson for Hostess did not comment on whether more employees would lose jobs.

Hostess’ main competitor in the snack cake field was with Flowers Foods, which makes Tastykake. Hostess has several subsidiary companies, including the bread brands Wonder and Nature’s Pride. With the announcement, Hostess may be seeking potential buyers, including with Oreo maker Kraft Foods and Campbell Soup’s Pepperidge Farm.
