A District police officer has been placed on leave following allegations that he assaulted a woman in his police cruiser. The officer and the woman were meeting for an arranged encounter when she said the assault happened. The assault took place while the officer was on duty.
The investigation is ongoing, and District and Montgomery County Police are cooperating. The officer is on administrative leave.
