Sunny Cancun has much more to offer than what its party town reputation might suggest. Plenty of gorgeous, drama-free family resorts cater to folks who want to experience the tropical Yucatan climate. There are significant Mayan ruins here, such as El Rey and the Yamil Lu’um, a crumbling tower of pale gray stone. Learn more about this ancient civilization at the Museo Maya de Cancun. For a literal taste of Mexico, take a tour of the Museo Sensorial del Tequila.  Below is your guided tour through the wonderful travel town of Cancun.

Lodging

Cancun owns a plethora of hotels for the searching visitor—all of high quality. The first, and arguably the best hotel, Secrets the Vine Cancun Resort and Spa,  is an adult all-inclusive premium hotel. With its location in a perpendicular direction to the ocean, all rooms have a phenomenal oceanside view, giving you that refreshing feel every time you lookout over the ocean. Another great hotel is Moon Palace Golf and Spa Resort, which truly is like no other all-inclusive resort. There are three main buildings at the resort, along with a massive pool capable of holding all the guests, and 24-hour room service. Oh, and lest we forget the golf for all of those little white ball chasers! A short shuttle ride to the course and you’ll be well on your way to shooting your lowest score ever. Other terrific hotels include: Live Aqua Cancun All Inclusive, Dreams Sands Cancun Resort and Spa, Le Blanc Spa Resort, Parasidus Cancun, Sun Palace and Beach Palace. Picking the ‘wrong’ hotel is impossible here, but selecting the absolute best becomes your challenge.

Food

The consensus stands that the number one eatery in Cancun is Peter’s Restaurante. The décor is very intimate and the dishes are great, which mesh well with the restaurant’s courteous staff. Also, Peter will make it a point to come visit you and ask about your meal. La Dolce Vita Centro is another superb restaurant with an excellent Italian cuisine menu. Les Cepages restaurant and Du Mexique are two other phenomenal French eateries. Cancun offers a wide variety of international food services in a conceded effort to make sure all of the island’s visitors can readily discover what they are craving. The top tier dessert restaurants include Ah Cacao Chocolate Café, which satisfies all chocolate cravings a visitor may have. Haagen-Daz and Ando Mareado are two other dessert locations that offer supreme ice cream treats and flan dishes. Furthermore, if you’re loking for a drinking location outside of the all-inclusive resorts, try The Surfin Burrito, Guanatos, and Chuchito Perez for a wonderful drinking atmosphere.

Activities

If you’re searching for a mildly crowded beach in Cancun, Playa Delfines is your spot. There exists plentiful space and cleanliness along this beach, and it even has a children’s play area and an outdoor gym. Avenida Kukulkan is an avenue in Cancun worth exploring, also. This avenue offers many retail outlets and restaurants suitable for the tourist looking to expand upon his or her Mexican experience. Dolphin Discovery is a very entertaining animal where you can watch the dolphins put on a show for you, the guest. Coco Bongo is the nightly entertainment spot with energetic shows and an open bar. Essentially, it is Cancun’s version of something resembling Las Vegas. The beaches are certainly the most intriguing aspect of Cancun’s activities, and rightfully so. Some beaches have more to offer than others, but you will not be shorted on beautiful waters and/or plentiful sunshine.
