Maryland Governor Wes Moore announced that there will be an increase in police presence around highway work zones. The increase would include both local and state officers.

Maryland has reported over 800 vehicle crashes in work zones so far this year. The state is also on pace to record 600 road-related fatalities, a record that hasn’t been reached in almost two decades.
