Community service for ex-chairman Brown

Former D.C. Council chairman Kwame Brown will not spend time in jail stemming from charges concerning campaign finance laws and lying on loan applications. Instead, Brown will receive a suspended sentence and 480 hours of community service. Brown previously pleaded guilty to the charges in June and relinquished his seat on the council as a result.
