Moatassim Gadhafi, son of former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, was reported captured Wednesday following a firefight, according to head of Tripoli Revolutionary Council Abdallah Naker. The report has yet to be confirmed or corroborated. Naker said that Moatassim Gadhafi and several aides were captured around noon in Sirte, and then taken to Benghazi.

Col. Ahmed Bani, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, could not confirm the capture. In spite of this, celebratory gunfire was heard from Sirte, Tripoli, and Benghazi.
