Five Nigerian churches bombed

Dozens were killed and wounded by a series of bombs that struck five churches in Nigeria on Sunday, according to authorities and witnesses. The bombings followed attacks on houses of worship during last year’s holiday season. Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan vowed to bring those responsible to justice.

Witnesses report over 30 killed. Jonathan said his government “will not relent in its determination to bring to justice all the perpetrators of today’s acts of violence and all others before now.” Nigeria is Africa’s most populated nation, and has the sixth-largest Christian population in the world.
