The body that was found on Queen Elizabeth II’s estate in Sandringham has been identified as a 17-year-old missing since August. Police confirmed that DNA testing helped identify the woman as Alisa Dmitrijeva, whose family immigrated from Latvia. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but detectives are investigating it as a murder.
The body was found on the grounds last week. Investigators determined it had been there between one and four months. Police are investigating activities in the area from August through September. The Sandringham estate is one of two private residences of the queen, and is used by the royal family to celebrate Christmas. It contains a 600-acre park open to the public.
