A poultry plant in northern China was engulfed by a fire on Monday, killing 119 people. Workers were trapped inside a slaughterhouse as the building burned. The fire department in the area reported that the fire was caused by an ammonia leak inside the plant.

According to workers in the plant, the fire started while employees were changing shifts in the early morning. It possibly began in a locker room. The fire is one of the worst industrial disasters in the country’s recent years.
