The Smithsonian American Art Museum has brought in two video games as additions to an art collection.

Elizabeth Broun, the museum’s director, says that video games are a unique artistic medium that have “created a new genre in media art.”

The Smithsonian has so far collected “Halo 2600” by Ed Fries and “Flower” by Jenova Chen and Kellee Santiago.

The museum plans to attain more video games in the future.
