Lawmaker’s in Portsmouth, Virginia are lobbying in favor of legalizing casino gambling.
The Portsmouth’s City Council voted Wednesday on the bill proposed by Sen. Louise Lucas who says it will bring 1,500 new job opportunities to the city.
Lucas’ proposal would put casino revenue towards decreasing toll fees.
Mayor Kenny Wright is in opposition of the bill claiming that no good can come from it.
