Hawk & Dove closing

Hawk n’ Dove, the iconic Capitol Hill water hole that was a regular stop for Supreme Court Justice William Douglas and often featured on the show “West Wing” will be shutting down after 44 years of business. The keys and the business will pass from owner Stuart Long to restaurateur Xavier Cervera and many believe that while Cervera intends to keep the name, the legacy and atmosphere will leave with Long.
“I’ve been here 44 years,” Long said of the bar located on Pennsylvania Ave. “I tried to make 50, but I didn’t make it.”
