M Street in Georgetown is home to many shops and restaurants, not all of which are long-lived. Mie N Yu has been a popular Asian fusion restaurant for almost 10 years. The mix of trendy Asian cuisine and décor made Mie N Yu a staple for locals and tourists alike. On Sunday night however, a Twitter message from the restaurant’s account announced its closing.
No explanation was given as to the reason, but the message thanked diners and local institutions for including Mie N Yu in the Georgetown community for nearly a decade. Perhaps a last hurrah for the restaurant known for elaborate decorations is a nomination for Cintas’ America’s Best Restroom contest. Voting will commence October 26th.
