The District Mayor, Vincent Gray, and Councilmemebers will meet on Tuesday at breakfast for the first time since the council voted to amend its code of conduct, eliminating profane language and “abusive language directed at another Councilmember.” The amendment came after and intense argument occurred between Councilmembers David Catania and Marion Barry.

At the breakfast meeting on Tuesday, Councilmemebers will vote on several issues including easing handgun registration requirements, and a resolution urging the federal government to require the country’s cellular device providers to “brick” (disable) stolen phones to make cellular devices less attractive to thieves. A council meeting will follow the breakfast meeting.
