Students at Woodrow Wilson High School began their day counter-protesting against the Westboro Baptist Church after their Principal, Pete Cahall came out as gay last week. The members of the Westboro Baptist Church held their own signs. “The principal of this school has no right to tell the students to sin,” said one member. Students of Woodrow Wilson High are supporting their principal, nevertheless. “We are accepting of LGBTQ students, and that’s what tiger pride is,” said student Marla Solow. David Catania, who is running for Mayor and is openly gay said, “When I was in high school we didn’t include the LGBTQ community, and these students are insisting that ‘we’ as a term be expanded to include us all and I couldn’t be prouder.”
