A D.C. man has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for killing a Maryland teen he met online.
Twenty-two-year-old Alexander Buckley met 18-year-old Sioban Lee through the social media site Tagged, which allows users to see profiles and pictures posted by other users. According to government evidence, Buckley and Lee eventually exchanged numbers.
On Jan. 25 the two agreed to meet and met near the intersection of 5th and Nicholson streets. According to a news release, Buckley shot Lee behind her left ear, killing her.
Afterwards, Buckley took Lee’s iPhone and iPod Touch. Police were able to arrest Buckley by tracking Lee’s phone. Buckley pleaded guilty in June.
