D.C. DMV driving tests canceled

Due to recent staffing issues the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles is forced to cancel scheduled driving tests between September 24 and October 11.

The announcement was made Tuesday and D.C. DMV director Lucinda Babers says, “In August, D.C. DMV began the process to hire three, full-time road test examiners, and we are expecting to hire qualified people as soon as possible.”

Approximately 800 hundred people will have their tests postponed. Those affected have the option to reschedule, take the test online or pay a fee and complete the road test through a third party.

The DMV intends to “expedite rescheduling the road test” upon hiring new examiners.
