According to a Washington Post report, D.C. councilmember Jack Evans has reportedly spent 31 percent of the money typically used to aid needy constituents on sporting events over the last decade. Records show that Evans spent nearly $135,000 on sports tickets since 2002.

Evans, who represents Ward 2, stated that he bought the tickets to help support the local professional sports franchises. That behavior is “inappropriate” according to fellow councilmember Tommy Wells.
