Police have identified the women killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 81 in Augusta County on Tuesday morning. Lara D. Grass, 27, of Lexington, was driving a car that rear ended a tractor trailer and caught on fire. She died at the scene. Initially, two vehicles had collided in the northbound lanes and the tractor trailer tried braking in order to avoid the two crashed vehicles in front of it. Grass’ car wasn’t able to stop in time, hitting the tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured and one person suffered minor injuries in the initial collision. The fatal wreck is still under investigation.
