Gun sale transactions in Virginia on Black Friday have already broken one record, and are well on their way to breaking another.
According to Virginia State Police, 3,902 guns were sold on Black Friday, which is 46 more guns than were sold on the same day last year.
The record for total gun transactions in a year was 432,387, which was set in 2012. As of Monday, 431,693 had already been sold for this year.
Gun purchasers are subject to mandatory criminal background checks before being allowed to purchase a firearm.
