Grand opening of Westover Italian Store pushed back to spring

The Italian Store’s opening has been delayed again. Owner Robert Tramonte commented that delays in getting utilities installed in the 75-year-old building was the cause of postponement. He also said that might be the possibility of a spring opening. When Tramonte made the announcement that his grocery/takeout restaurant business would be taking over the Westover 7-Eleven in December 2013, he initially planned to open May 2014. Issues with permits held up the start of construction, when Tramonte said he hoped to be open for business before the holidays. Construction is currently in full swing. The new store will feature a seating area for customers to eat and drink, an expanded grocery section and an espresso bar. Tramonte described his plans for the second location as “The Italian Store on steroids.”
