According to Prince William County police, a Manassas day care director has been charged with physically assaulting two children in her care. Arousha Shahin, 39, of Haymarket, who runs the SMILE Day Care, was arrested Friday. Authorities claim detectives were investigating an anonymous tip and found Ahahin assaulting a 6-year-old boy and 5-year-old girl while they were in her care at the facility during February. She’s charged with two counts each of assault and battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. SMILE Day Care is not listed in the state’s online directory of licensed and regulated unlicensed childcare providers and is currently closed.
