The first seasonal report of a bear sighting in Fairfax County, Virginia, took place on Saturday as a driver struck a bear on the Dulles Toll Road. In addition to the Toll Road incident, a Vienna resident reported seeing a bear in his backyard, located in the 1600 block of Fremont Lane, on Saturday afternoon. According to Fairfax County Police, bear sightings are not uncommon for this time of year, and residents should not be alarmed.
