2 dead in devastating Falls Church house fire

Residents of Manor Ave. in Falls Church, VA were awakened early Wednesday morning by firefighters responding to a devastating house fire. Two people and their pets are reported to have died in the blaze, which gutted their ranch-style home. When firefighters arrived at the scene, the home was already almost entirely engulfed in flames. A neighbor reported that the fire, which broke out around 3:25a.m., quickly spread to all four sides of the house. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue spokesman Dan Schmidt says that only a stone fireplace remains at the location, a cause has yet to be determined.
