Usain Bolt, the six-time gold medalist sprinter from Jamaica, says he will retire after the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Bolt said: “I think it will be a good time to retire, on top and just been dominating for so long.” Bolt won three gold medals at the world championships in Moscow and will run in the 100 at the Van Damme Memorial. Bolt still strives to keep his streak going, saying: “if I want to be among the great of Ali and Pele and all these guys, I have to continue dominating until I retire.” In a report from the Associated Press, “Bolt says he wants to win gold in Rio, set another world record in the 200 meters next year, and perhaps win a gold metal at the Commonwealth Games.”

By the time the 2016 Olympic Games arrive, Bolt will be 30 years old, no longer with the edge that youth can provide. However, he has a passion for the sport and a strong desire to leave a positive mark in his category. Bolt set the world record in 2009, running 100 meters in 9.58 seconds, and some believe he may not reach those incredible numbers again. It is certain though, that he will put up an amazing fight until the very end of his career.
