Los Angeles Clippers owner, and currently the center of media attention for his leaked conversations that landed him in serious trouble, Donald Sterling, is refusing to pay the $2.5 million fine handed to him by the NBA. Sterling is also rejecting his lifetime ban and is threatening to sue the league. Sterling has hired attorney Maxwell Blecher to represent him. Blecher’s prior notable cases include representing the Los Angeles Coliseum in its lawsuit against the NFL, which moved the Raiders from Los Angeles to Oakland, as well representing Sterling in 1982, when he fought, and won, a battle to move the NBA franchise form San Diego to Los Angeles. Blecher claims that Sterling has and is being denied due process rights, and that none of his actions were in violation of the NBA constitution.
