The search for “missing” radio icon Casey Kasem is over; he was with his wife visiting friends in Kitsap County, Washington. Kasem, 82, is suffering from Lewy body disease, which is a common cause of dementia.Following his overnight removal from a nursing home recently, his daughter, Kerri Kasem filed a missing persons report for her father. Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies found Kasem, accompanied by his wife, in the home of longtime friends. Following a 40 minute visit, the deputies determined the Kasem was alert, safe, and receiving proper medical care. “We are grateful to local authorities for finding my Dad. We are one step closer to bringing him home,” daughter Kerri Kasem explained in a statement Wednesday night. Casey Kasem’s daughters are currently in a custody battle with his wife as to who should be in charge of caring for the elderly Kasem.
