Rangers coach fired

New York Rangers coach John Tortorella was fired by the team on Wednesday after over four seasons. Glen Sather, Rangers president and general manager, explained on a conference call that there wasn’t any specific instance that led to the decision. No other details were given as to why Tortorella was let go.

Tortorella was fired four days after the end of the team’s season. He left the job with one year left on his contract.
