Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant was honored at a ceremony in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Tuesday after being named the NBA Most Valuable Player. This season Durant won his fourth scoring title in five years, averaging 32 points/game and helping lead his team to a 59-23 record; the last player to win the league’s MVP award and scoring title was Allen Iverson during the 2000-2001 season. On his way to his first MVP award, Durant went on a 41 game streak of scoring at least 25 points/game. During this season, his seventh in the NBA, Durant’s points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game and field goal percentage were all higher than Michael Jordan’s during his seventh season in the league.
