GM to recall cars

0

GM is recalling several of its midsize models because of a problem with their transmissions. The problem occurs when the transmission cable breaks, causing the car to appear in park when in reality it is still in gear. There have been four accidents so far because of the problem. The 2007-2010 Chevrolet Malibus, Pontiac G6s and Saturn Auras are all set to be recalled. GM will recall around 477,000 cars in total.

The cars, which all have four speed automatic transmissions, will have to get new transmission cables or a protective cover placed over them. Owners will be notified via letter by GM to set up a time and appointment to get the issue resolved. This is the 2nd time in recent years that GM has recalled one of their models for a transmission problem.
