A Maryland man received a 12 year sentence for aiming a firearm at police officers.
Forty-six-year-old James Jardina wheeled into his sentence hearing Tuesday after pleading guilty to first-degree assault. He is now confined to a wheelchair due to the injuries he suffered from being shot several times by the police after he raised a gun to a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy and a Natural Resources Police officer in June 2012.
According to authorities police had been on the hunt for Jardina after his wife said that he was pondering suicide.
