The Great Dismal Swamp located over southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina was searched for a missing plane Friday.
According to state police the plane bound for Virginia took off Thursday from Fort Lauderdale. The signal for the plane went undetected over the swamp and it never made it to its destination.
There are no reports of wreckage or whether or not the pilot was flying alone or with passengers on the Cessna aircraft.
The swamp was searched by boat, but an air search was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.
