A 20-year-old man has been arrested for a murder that police believe involved the use of a hatchet. Montgomery County police say they responded to a call at midnight reporting a burglary in a home near Cliff Pine Dr.
Claude Allen, the man who placed the phone call, claimed to have killed a man who attempted to break into his home.
Police found a dead body in a wooded area behind Allen’s home. After a preliminary investigation, police confirmed that no burglary had occurred. The two men had known each other.
Police also determined that a hatchet was used in the murder. Allen has been arrested and charged with homicide.
