Lawmakers in Maryland have put together a comprehensive plan for banning assault weapons, high-capacity magazine clips, and raising credentials for the purchasing of hand guns. The bill was signed by Maryland state senators Brian Frosh, Bill Ferguson, Jamie Raskin and Lisa Gladden, and Gov. Martin O’Malley has also announced plans for tighter gun control laws. New attention to gun control and assault weapons bans come in the wake of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
