Legendary ‘X-Men’ actor Hugh Jackman really stirred the pot with his 45th birthday celebration.

Hosted Saturday at Hollywood’s Dolby Theater, the party had a guest list of 4,500 people who were all required to pay an entry fee.

Jackman put on a two-and-a-half hour performance in which he told stories, sang and danced including a tap dancing routine inspired by the Broadway musical number “Singin’ in the Rain”.

He also auctioned off an electric Fiat, a set of Wolverine claws and sweat drenched t-shirts he wore under his clothes during his routine.

All of the funds raised at the birthday bonanza totaled a whopping $1.85 million.  Jackman’s proceeds went to the Motion Picture & Television Fund which provides workers in the entertainment industry with health care and other assistance.

“This is probably the most narcissistic way to spend your birthday…I chose my favorite songs and told stories about my life,” says Jackman.

The actor hopes the funds raised at the event will extend “that unconditional helping hand you get in a family.”
