ENTERTAINMENT – Rolling Stones perform free concert in Cuba, making history

0

On Friday, the Rolling Stones made history by becoming the first major international rock band to host a concert in Cuba. Following the Cuban revolution, rock music was banned on television and radio. “Years ago, it was difficult to hear our music, but here we are,” Rolling Stones front-man Mick Jagger told the crowd in Spanish. “The times are changing,” he added. In 2014, the United States and Cuba announced that they would repair decades of broken relations and the concert by the Stones was one step toward normalized relations.
