D.C. rapper “Fat Trel” accused of passing fake $50 bills

Rapper “Fat Trel”, a District of Columbia native, is accused of passing counterfeit  $50 bills at the Maryland Live Casino. On Sunday evening Ann Arundel County Police were called to the casino where Martel Reeves aka “Fat Trel” tried to use nine fraudulent $50 bills for gambling chips. The music artist, who’s signed with Maybach Music and Atlanta records, told authorities that he received the bills from an ATM machine inside a 7-Eleven in the District. Reeves has been charged with possession of counterfeit currency.

Girl gave birth, fakes finding baby on porch

Early on Wednesday morning, a young girl from Hagerstown, MD gave birth to a girl. The new young mother told authorities she found the newborn on the back porch.  She called the police after 7 a.m. reporting she found the infant in a plastic bag. Officer Heather Aleshire says police don’t plan to charge the girl in connection with the incident. The baby was in stable condition and was flown to Children’s National Medical Center in Washington.

22 dead in the city of Kolkata in India

In the Indian city of Kolkata, an overpass collapsed on Thursday, causing the death of at least 22 people and leaving dozens missing. Major General Anurag Gupta from India’s National Disaster Management Authority, told CNN early on Thursday evening that “authorities didn’t then know how many people were driving across the bridge when it fell or how many more remained trapped.” Gupta added that at least 75 others suffered injuries in the busy commercial area of Kolkata’s center. Prime minister Narendra Modi said. “My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives in Kolkata,” Modi added. “May the injured recover at the earliest.”

Donald Trump’s abortion comments light fire to both sides

On Wednesday, the real estate mogul, Donald Trump, made comments on abortion and how women should be held accountable. Republicans quickly approved Trump’s statements on the matter, but not before Democrats showed the damage the words of Trump could have on the GOP. Hours later, Trump backed away from his comments, which go against the GOP’s anti-abortion stance. Hillary Clinton in an interview with CNN stated “If you make abortion a crime — you make it illegal — then you make women and doctors criminals.”

William Shatner hit with $170 million paternity suit

A Florida based radio host is suing William Shatner, who once played Captain Kirk on “Star Trek”. He claims that Shatner is his father.  Peter Sloan says that the actor had an affair with his birth mother, Katherine Burt in 1956. William Shatner denies that Sloan is his son. Sloan who is 59 years old was given up for adoption right after his birth. Sloan is seeking $30 million in compensatory damages, $90 million in punitive damages and $50 million for pain and suffering. He is also demanding a jury trial.
